KAWO Recap: RISE Conference 2015

This past weekend, our team had the opportunity to exhibit at RISE in Hong Kong. Despite there being over 500 startups in attendance, we were able to make some noise and meet some really cool people in the tech and startup scene. Here are some of the highlights:

KAWO DOES PITCH

40 startups competed in the PITCH competition, battling for USD $100,000 worth of free credit for one year, applicable to all Google Cloud Platform products. Our product lead, Alex Duncan, gave a solid effort with huge support coming from the rest of the team in the audience.

RISE ON WEIBO

In partnership with RISE’s media team, we were able to use the KAWO platform to provide a live stream of content to followers in China on Weibo. In total, 2,600+ people were able to digitally be a part of RISE with the conference hashtag RISE会议 generating over 161,000 views while averaging 20 engagements per post.

CONFERENCE SWAG

Obviously, a conference wouldn’t be complete without branded “swag”. On top of our Cantonese Phrasebook, which people downloaded throughout the weekend, we ordered well over 500 KAWO stress balls, each in these super (un)practical cellophane wrappers that were a joy to individually remove at 8 in the morning.

It was all good though, as the candy from the Shopilist booth alleviated any bakelite based maladies.

Between the speakers, the activities, and the friends made along the way, RISE was a great experience for our team at KAWO. Enjoy some more of the pictures below!!
