WeChat has launched a lottery platform for sports betting, just in time for the abundance of Chinese fans to guess match results for the FIFA 2014 World Cup.
WeChat’s users, which number over 300 million, can access the betting platform and pay through the WeChat payment system.
WeChat makes adding the exciting element of betting on the World Cup accessible and convenient through its online platform. The World Cup lottery feature is sure to be a popular complement to watching late-night games live.
How It Works:
Users access the platform by first following the official WeChat account for sports betting: “w-caipiao” (picture 1).
To place bets, users click the middle button of the bottom menu, “买彩票”, (picture 2) and select the World Cup “2014 世界杯” option (picture 3).
Now users pick two matches and bet on the results of each game for anything between 2RMB and 400RMB (picture 4). Bets can be placed on the teams they think (or hope) will win, or on a tied result, up to ten minutes before each match’s kickoff.
