How to do new Douyin authorization

To continuously protect the security of user information, Douyin’s platform has recently adjusted its APIs. To continue managing your Douyin data on KAWO, you need to authorize both the new and old API interfaces,Otherwise, data access will be interrupted. The connection process is shown in the diagram below.

Additionally, please note that the validity period for the new Douyin API authorization is only 1–3 days. The connection will expire after this timeframe, and KAWO will send disconnection reminders when this happens. We have promptly adjusted our APIs to comply with the platform’s latest security requirements. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding and support.

How to Minimize the Impact?

✅ Data Retrieval
You don’t need to reconnect every time your session expires. Whenever your Douyin account is successfully connected, KAWO will automatically sync the past 30 days of data

  • If you don’t check data daily, there’s no need to reconnect immediately after disconnection.
  • Simply reconnect when you need access, and KAWO will restore data in the “Reports” section within 5 minutes and in the “Data Center” within 30 minutes (for posts from the past month).
  • As long as you have successfully connected at least once within 30 days, no data will be lost. Compared to Douyin’s official 90-day data retention policy, KAWO still provides extended data storage.

Reminder: If you need to refer to the daily post data, please ensure that the new Douyin authorization remains active. Otherwise, we will not be able to obtain the detailed daily data for individual posts as shown in the figure below.

✅ Content Publishing
Due to the new API requirements, posts can only be published while the connection is active. We recommend checking your connection status before scheduling or publishing content to ensure a smooth posting process.

The Advantages of This API Update

While this change presents some challenges, it also unlocks new opportunities for technical enhancements. In the future, we plan to support additional data metrics, such as completion rate, 5-second completion rate, 2-second drop-off rate, new followers/unfollowers, homepage visits, and more. These improvements are in progress—stay tuned!

We sincerely appreciate your patience and support. KAWO remains committed to helping you manage your Douyin content and data more efficiently.
